Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Young Leaders Programme 2025 for young Cameroonians.

Applications are now open for the 2025 Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Young Leaders Programme. The Young Leaders Training Program is a program that aims to strengthen the political participation of young men and women involved in civil society, unions and political parties in Cameroon and to promote the values ​​of social democracy, notably freedom, justice and solidarity.

Since 2012, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung has been training young people and committed people in Yaoundé. First as a regional program and since 2018 with a focus on Cameroonian participants. FES is looking for 25 young women and men who will participate in 2-day trainings (Thursday to Friday) at the end of each month from March to October with 8 sessions. During this period, we will address different themes relating to the values ​​of political leadership, communication and operational management tools, in person or via Zoom.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old when submitting your application
  • Reside in Cameroon
  • Be available to participate in all sessions of the program
  • Have a university degree or be in the process of obtaining a first degree at the time of application
  • Being politically active
  • Being involved in a project or initiative and/or active in civil society, a political party or a union

Application Procedure:

Please send your application, consisting of a two-page cover letter and your detailed CV (2 pages max.) in PDF format by email before December 15, 2024 at 4 p.m. to the following address: youngleaders(at)fes-kamerun.org .

Your cover letter should refer to your commitment to Cameroonian society, explain what you expect from the program and develop the contribution of young people to the transformation of Cameroon.

To better assess the application, the following questions should be answered:

  1. Why are you applying to this program? How will your participation help fuel your commitment and transform your community (or organization)?
  2. What would be your contribution to the young leaders training program?
  3. What do you think is one of the pressing challenges facing Cameroon and how can young people help solve it?
